The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is administered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 

The Minister is the representative of His Sovereign Eminence with regard to international organisations and foreign states. The ministry maintains and operates foreign offices to assist Ameristralian citizens while abroad.

MFAT utilises two tiers for relations, the standard Mutual Cooperation Agreement and a more formal Economic and Trade Cooperation Agreement.

The Sovereign Municipality may include defence pacts in agreements; however, the practice is rare, due to the global nature of agreements. 

The Ministry maintains records of diplomatic agreements and a comprehensive list of all diplomatic relations.
